Electro-Osmosis Dehydration at the Nama

Majan Solutions successfully piloted an advanced electro-osmosis sludge dehydration system at Seeb STP, achieving over 54% weight reduction and 40% dryness. A key step toward sustainable sludge management in Oman.

Advanced Electro-Osmosis Dehydration Technology: Pilot works carried out by Majan Solutions at the Nama Water Seeb STP

In collaboration with Korea Water Technology, Majan Solutions successfully completed the pilot installation and testing of an advanced electro-osmosis sludge dehydration system at the Seeb Sewage Treatment Plant in Muscat.

This innovative system significantly reduces the moisture content in sludge (from ~18% to over 40% dryness) and achieves up to 54% weight reduction, while also lowering odour levels by over 74%. The tested unit maintained an average throughput of 206 kg/hr and power consumption below 200 kWh/ton, meeting all key KPIs set for industrial application.

Designed for energy efficiency and environmental compliance, the system proved to be highly effective in converting wastewater sludge into a more manageable and potentially reusable form. Majan Solutions provided full installation, customization, and operational oversight.

🔹 This project marks a major milestone in Oman’s sustainable sludge management strategy, and Majan is now offering full EPC and integration services for this technology across the region
